Being the main character, you use him a lot, and he's probably the best character on the team. If you use him right and you know how to manage his abilities, he is by far the best. Sephiroth

Sephiroth is, by far, the most powerful character in the game. He is a force to be reckoned with. He seemed to be a good guy until he misunderstands information on his own life. Aeris Gainsborough

Strengths/Weaknesses: Good with magic/Not a strong physical attacker
Personality: Peaceful
Aeris isn't the best physical attacker, but she makes that up with her magic skills and limit breaks (that is if you get them all). You have to work with her a lot to get her best limit breaks. Tifa Lockheart

Strengths/Weaknesses: Very skilled in hand-to-hand combat/None I can think of
Personality: Optimistic
Tifa is, well, hot. She is as good as she looks, and probably one of the best characters to use. Limit breaks are great, but don't miss any, or the results aren't too good, atleast near the end of the game. Barret Wallace

Strengths/Weaknesses: Focuses his hatred of Shinra to his battles/Hot-headed, doesn't get everything
Personality: Not the brightest, but can be angry at one point and then happy in another
Barret can be a good fighter, but not necessarily the best. He can be a good fighter if you can use him properly. Red XIII

Strengths/Weaknesses: Very wise and able fighter/None that I can think of
Personality: Calm and wise
Red XII is a very good fighter, his attacking power great. Very good to use during disc 1 and 2, but in 3 the others are stronger. That just depends on how you use him. Cid Highwind

Strengths/Weaknesses: Skilled pilot and good fighter/None that I can think of
Personality: Tough-talking guy
Cid is another one of those characters that is very good. He may seem weak when you first get him, but if you work with him, he can be one bad dude, expecially his level 4 limit break. Cait Sith

Strengths/Weaknesses: No real strengths/Limit breaks not that good
Personality: Kind of stupid, though not completely useless
Cait Sith is not necessarily a good character. He can have his high points, but not a character to rely on in a fight, atleast not that much. HP is high for him, though. Vincent Valentine

Personality: Gloom, not that optimistic
Vincent is a good character right when you get him. If you work with him, he can be devastating. Very mysterious... Yuffie Kisaragi

Strengths/Weaknesses: Thinks she can take anyone on/None that I can think of
Personality: Arrogant, sneaky, and selfish
Yuffie isn't that bad a character. She is not necessarily better than anyone, but can be devastating. Watch out, though, if you get her in disc 1 or 2 and..... |
